I dreamed I was living in the house I’ve had lots of recurring dreams in. This time it started out with me living in the front of the house. This is the area I’m typically in. I was moving into a different area of the front of the house. Other people were there including my aunt. She had given me a couch she and my uncle used. The area I was moving into was a huge room. It would be like a studio apartment. I was telling her I may put the couch against a certain wall and I’d put my bed over on the opposite side for privacy. She seemed to be mulling it over. Then it came to me: why don’t I just move further to the back of the house. There’s so much space, and I’ve never lived in those areas. I walked bank there. It was so beautiful. Other people rented space in the areas. In this dream an older woman, who was like an ancestral grandmother, owned and rented these spaces out. I didn’t have to rent though since I was family and part of the owners. I found a lovely office that overlooked rolling mountains. It had a built in natural wood desk along the wall under the big windows. It’s like my ancestral grandmother designed this room. I thought, I understand why he did it this way. What a lovely way to work. I claimed it as my room to use, and it wasn’t being used. Then there was a big kitchen in the middle that was for everyone. Then over to the other side toward the back was a beautiful bedroom that had lovely glass doors with lots of curtains. It wasn’t a huge bedroom but it was beautiful. I said I chose that one as well. Another person living there said it was used as a gist bedroom and was a favorite. He said I may want to choose a different room in case the guests, which include the mayor, would be disappointed. I said I’d sleep in the couch if we had guests but that I really wanted this room. (When I woke I was sad that I didn’t consider my kitties. I’d always have considered my kitties, usually even in dreams.) Then later in the dream, I realized I was running late to work. I work at a restaurant (another common recurring dream of mine) and I was running late. I still needed to put my makeup on and I didn’t have long. It seemed like everything was in slow motion. When I went to get in my car, I realized I didn’t have a car anymore. Then I remembered a crazy dream event with a person I used to really work with at a restaurant. I dreamed that my coworker stole a car for me that looked just like my car. This was crazy weird and would never happen in IRL. The guy he stole it from appeared and was saying someone stole my car. That car looked just like mine. IRL I don’t have a car. But this dream car looked just like my old car. And my friend stole it but I didn’t know where it was. I still didn’t have a way to get to work. Next, I hear my ancestral grandma passed away. I’m very sad but glad she won’t know about that stolen car. I’m very embarrassed about whatever happened there. In the dream, I couldn’t even remember what exactly happened there. Anyway, I finally get to work. I’m super late. But it seems ok. They have a guest at work to help the employees, like we’re having a special meeting. Well this woman gives us a test to take. She gives each of us an iPad and there’s 100 questions. I can’t tell if it’s a type of IQ or personality test. But everything is going in slow motion again and I can’t seem to get the questions answered. It’s taking me forever to answer any questions. When I wake up I’ve only gotten to the second question. Oddly, when I wake up, this dream mostly feels comforting because of the house, but certainly also chaotic. I also got good deep sleep.
